Welcome to Susan Strawbridge Photography!
I emphasize color candids to capture the emotions, fun, love and energy of children, friends and families. Often borrowing humor from my two daughters, Elise and Westie, I have an energetic, creative and friendly approach to my sessions. Instead of relying on traditional poses, I prefer to watch and wait for the special moments that define a child or who you are as a family.
A sitting should be fun for you and your kids! Let kids be kids. I make children feel comfortable, enabling me to capture not only a moment but also an emotion. One of my greatest professional compliments came from a four year old boy who blindsided me with a huge hug at the playground weeks after our photo shoot and exclaimed "Hi camera lady! Can we have another playdate soon?"
The photos in my gallery reflect my candid style. I have enjoyed the special moments I’ve captured and would love to help your family create timeless pieces that you will cherish forever. And don't forget, great photos don't have to cost a fortune.
My work includes newborns, christenings, kids, families, dogs, birthday parties, graduation portraits, corporate headshots, product marketing, you name it.

Happy Birthday to Me: After all that time and energy planning your child’s perfect birthday party, just relax and enjoy the moment. Susan Strawbridge will photograph the outdoor party, including individual shots of each guest (prints make a perfect thank you note!).
Photography Class for Mom: Ever wondered how to take better photos of those moving targets we call kids?! This fun session will teach you how to make the most of that fancy camera you own (or want to put on your Christmas wish list). Photographing children is what I know best. This personalized lesson will teach you how to move beyond the standard snapshot with a handful of tips. We will cover your camera settings and basic photography (exposure, composition, light, etc.). Dig even deeper with an extra hour on your computer to learn how to transform your photos with basic editing tricks.
